Book reviews
I found this book very easy to read. It contains a mine of information and is based upon common sense principles.

Most of us live with the constant feeling that we ‘ought’ to be taking better care of ourselves – but somehow rarely turn that feeling into action! Where this book succeeds is in creating the motivation and belief that such improvements are both possible and realistic. The accessible information and realistic strategies are clearly capable of achieving life-enhancing changes. As a ‘dip-in’ guide for individuals or an invaluable resource for organisations keen to support the well-being of their staff, Fiona Slade has managed to make her subject enjoyable, inspiring and - most importantly - practical.

I found this book very engaging and enjoyable to read. It deals especially well with the link between the body and the mind and offers practical and realistic suggestions that anyone can follow.

A good book to have around the house, the office, practice, school, wherever.
Something that lends itself to a browse, dipping into, providing answers to specific questions and aiding personal research about a wide range of health issues. I like the mix of text, low-tech diagrams, tables, cartoons. The tone of the book worked well for me. It is encouraging rather than "preachy". It is the kind of thing that I think people might go to if/when confused by the bombardment of contradictory information that seems to hit the media almost daily at present. I think it gets across a positive message about empowering people to take their health seriously but without beating themselves up about it and thereby reducing the prospects of bringing about any lasting and personally satisfying and life enhancing improvement

Reading this book makes life easier!! It is refreshing to read something which makes sense to the average man trying to look after himself. Exercise, stress and the idea of eating certain foods was great, also from this book I have decided to take up Pilates!!
The understanding of the glycaemic index also helps. Thanks for the read. I liked it because it used ordinary language I could understand, not scientific language. I did not find that I read it all. I just went for the bits that interested me. It was good to find a book that I could do that with. Usually you have to go all over the place to get the bits of information you want. I did not know anything about the core muscles before. I go to the gym as part of looking after myself, but now I want to do Pilates too, to work on those muscles, to work on the inside too. Will be stocking it in the shop for my customers.

I gave your book to my brother to look at and he won't give it back to me.
He thinks it's great and tells me it is very clear and easy to understand. He is a very critical person so . . . He was taken by the clarity and how he understood stuff he had never been able to make head or tail of before.

If you want to have a healthy body you need to know how it works. This invaluable information should be taught at school. Work Life Body empowers you to have a good life.

Work Life Body is a very well researched mine of information which pulls together in one place everything you could ever want to know about keeping your body healthy and strong. Despite covering a huge amount of detail it is written in a practical, easy to understand style. Understanding exactly how our bodies function and what they need is the first step to taking ownership for our own wellbeing and happiness. This seems to me to be a fundamental value we should all embrace in our societies and organisations of the future if we want to create successful and thriving communities.
